Senior Housing Insurance Program

The NYAHSA Senior Housing insurance program offered by NYAHSA Services, Inc. is designed specifically for our housing members. Written through Cool Insuring Agency, Inc., the senior housing insurance program offers coverage for property/boiler, general liability, Directors & Officers Liability, auto, crime and workers’ compensation insurance.

The NYAHSA Services Senior Housing Insurance Program has been a long-awaited solution for our housing members in need of affordable insurance. Over the past few years, HUD properties and senior retirement communities have experienced an exponential increase in premiums for insurance. Many properties have exhausted all resources, including their reserve funds, to pay these excessive premiums. Funds that once went for resident services are now being spent on insurance premiums. The carriers we have chosen for this new program understand exposures such as service coordinators, pull cords and emergency call buttons and embrace the senior housing market.

The NYAHSA Services Senior Housing Insurance Program is able to offer the same insurance coverage as other companies, but at significantly lower premiums. Recently, a Continuing Care Retirement Community saved $125,000 on property insurance alone while a HUD facility saved $10,000 by switching to NYAHSA Services Senior Housing Insurance Program.
