State Register
A weekly publication containing newly proposed changes to rules and regulations by state agencies. It provides an opportunity to comment on actions before a rule is permanently adopted. Administration on Aging
Part of the Department of Health and Human Services that supports a nationwide aging network consisting of "meals on wheels," transportation, at-home services and ombudsman services.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
A Department of Health and Human Services agency that supports cross-cutting research on health care systems, health care quality and cost issues, and effectiveness of medical treatments.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The agency provides a system of health surveillance to monitor and prevent outbreak of diseases. The web site includes national health statistics and information on ongoing research.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
CMS is the agency within the Department of Health and Human Services that administers the Medicare and Medicaid programs. The CMS Web site includes news and technical information.

American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
AAHSA represents not-for-profit organizations dedicated to providing high-quality health care, housing and services to the nation's elderly. Its membership consists of over 5,000 not-for-profit nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, senior housing facilities, assisted living and community services. NYAHSA is AAHSA's state affiliate in New York.
