The Foundation for Long Term Care (FLTC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization specializing in educational and research activities. The FLTC is a separate legal entity from the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, with a distinct governing body; however, they have related interests.

Pathways to Leadership-Train the Trainer
Pathways to Leadership is a research-based educational program for charge nurses (both LPNs and RNs) designed to strengthen their management, leadership and communication skills and thereby improve quality of care in nursing homes. This is a train the trainer program.

Request for proposals for 2008 educational conferences.
The New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) and the Foundation for Long Term Care (FLTC) are requesting program proposals for educational seminars and conferences in the year 2008.

Caring Communication: Cooperative Communication at the End of Life Manual
This manual, which is now available from the Foundation for Long Term Care, is designed to help those who provide care to nursing home residents at the end of life to communicate better with family members.

Growing Strong Roots
The Foundation for Long Term Care's "Growing Strong Roots" CNA peer mentoring system has done it again. For the second time, research on the project documented that participation in the project improves the retention rates of new CNAs.
